A vehicle hit several people in north London's Finsbury Park area early Monday, "leaving a number of casualties," police said.

The London Ambulance Service said it sent "a number of resources" to Seven Sisters Road, and the Metropolitan Police described what happened as a "major incident." One person has been arrested. Witnesses described watching police officers trying to revive people in the street, the BBC reports, and the Muslim Council of Britain tweeted that the people were hit outside the Muslim Welfare House, near the Finsbury Park Mosque. Police have not said if they believe this was a terror attack.
