House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Wednesday that President Trump "is obstructing justice and is engaged in a cover-up," which "could be an impeachable offense." Still, she has continued to resist pleas from House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) and her own team to open an impeachment inquiry into Trump. Several high-profile House Democrats and even a Republican have called for impeachment proceedings to begin, yet Pelosi is reportedly worried about how a division over impeachment will look in 2020. She warned her party against campaign fundraising based on impeachment views on Wednesday. Trump cited the "cover-up" comments as his reason for walking out of an infrastructure meeting, and said that "I don't do cover-ups" in an impromptu Wednesday press conference.
